// Le Caire, 1964. Alaa, 12 ans, et ses trois petits frères et sœurs entendent des cris provenant de la rue. Dehors, un homme est acclamé par la foule. Les enfants, sidérés, reconnaissent leur père Ibrahim. Personne ne s’attendait à ce qu’il sorte de prison ce jour-là.
// Cairo, 1964. Alaa, a 12-year-old boy, and his three younger siblings hear shouting from the street. Outside, the crowd is cheering for a man. The children can barely believe their eyes: the man is their father, Ibrahim. Nobody expected him to come home from prison that day.

// Sameh Alaa est un réalisateur et producteur égyptien basé entre Le Caire et Bruxelles. Son premier court métrage, Fifteen, a été présenté en avant-première au TIFF et a remporté plusieurs prix internationaux. Son deuxième court métrage, I Am Afraid to Forget Your Face, est devenu le premier film égyptien à remporter la Palme d’or du meilleur court métrage au Festival de Cannes en 2020. Le film a été projeté dans de grands festivals internationaux, notamment à Saint-Sébastien, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs et Busan, puis présenté au Museum of Modern Art. Ses œuvres ont été diffusées sur Canal+, ARTE et Shahid. Son premier court métrage d’animation, S the Wolf, a été présenté en avant-première au SXSW en 2025. Il développe actuellement son premier long métrage, When I Close My Eyes, I See Yours, développé à la Cinéfondation Residency et à Ikusmira Berriak.
// Sameh Alaa is an Egyptian director and producer based between Cairo and Brussels. His first short film, Fifteen, premiered at TIFF and won several international awards. His second short film, I Am Afraid to Forget Your Face, became the first Egyptian film to win the Palme d’Or for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival in 2020. The film screened at major international festivals including San Sebastián, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, and Busan, and was later featured at the Museum of Modern Art. His work has been broadcast on Canal+, ARTE, and Shahid. His First animated short, S the Wolf, premiered at SXSW in 2025. He is currently developing his first feature film, When I Close My Eyes, I See Yours, developed at the Cinéfondation Residency and Ikusmira Berriak.

// Après un bac arts-appliqués et deux années à l’Atelier de Sèvres en classe préparatoire, Robin Vouters a commencé à travailler dans le cinéma d’animation. Il a réalisé quelques commandes de courts métrages et de clips. Aujourd’hui, il s’ouvre à de nouveaux métiers artistiques, tout en continuant la réalisation de films, et s’apprête à ouvrir un tiers-lieu orienté art, culture et bien-être.
// After an arts degree and two years of preparatory class at the Atelier de Sèvres, Robin Vouters started working in animation having directed a few commissioned films and music videos. Today, he is opening up to new art forms in order to enrich its personal culture, all the while still directing films. He is also planning on opening a hybrid location dedicated to arts, culture, and wellness.
