// Ayçe Kartal sort diplômé du département d’animation des Beaux-Arts de l’université Anadolu d’Eskisehir en 2010. En 2018, il signe Vilaine Fille et devient le premier réalisateur à remporter le Grand Prix du festival de Clermont-Ferrand avec un film d’animation avant de remporter le César du meilleur court-métrage d’animation en 2019. Son dernier court métrage, Qui a tué Narin G**** ? a été réalisé dans l’urgence, répondant à la profonde fracture politique et sociale turque, alimentant une situation politique déjà tendue, notamment sur les questions de droits de l’homme et le nombre croissant de disparitions d’enfants et de cas de violences domestiques. Ayçe développe actuellement son premier long métrage, Toute la douceur du monde.
// Ayçe Kartal graduated from the Animation Department of Fine Arts at Anadolu University in Eskisehir in 2010. In 2018, with his short film Wicked Girl, he became the first director to win the Grand Prize in Clermont-Ferrand festival with an animated film, before winning the César for Best Animated Short Film in 2019. His latest short, Who killed Narin G****? was made in response to a deep political and social Turkish divide, fueling an already tense political situation, particularly on human rights issues and the growing number of child disappearances and cases of domestic violence. Ayçe is currently developing his first feature film, All the softness in the world.
